Mastering Google AdWords Select

There are some people for whom Google is a very generous god, one who, in return for small gifts, will bestow great fortune -- these are the people who use its AdWords program, which, according to many who run Web businesses, has revolutionized the way products are sold online.

AdWords ads are the ones you see on the right side of the screen when you do a Google search; they're small, text-based pitches that are triggered by keywords that advertisers bid on, as in an eBay auction. Google did not invent this ad model -- GoTo.com, now called Overture, has long been a leader in the field of keyword-based search ads, and, indeed, the company is suing Google for allegedly infringing on its patents. (Google denies any wrongdoing.) Overture has done remarkably well selling so-called pay-for-placement ads, which run on search sites all over the Web, including on Yahoo and MSN. This year, Overture will make over a billion dollars in revenue. But Google's program has attracted more advertisers because, Web owners say, it treats all businesses, regardless of size and wealth, equally.

"It works on a system that's independent of the cost," says Ashwin Iddya, the author of an e-book on AdWords. "In Overture, a big guy like eBay may beat all the other competitors," Iddya says, explaining that Overture determines rank strictly according to the price a company pays for a certain keyword. "In Google that's not a problem. In Google the listing of the ad depends on the price you pay and on the click-through rates" -- meaning that a big company's ad could end up lower than a small firm's ad if the small guy has a more attractive pitch.

"So I think most advertisers think that Google is God," Iddya says. "It's working out great for small businesses and medium businesses. Before this, they really didn't have a major avenue for advertising on the Internet. If you wanted to advertise in Yahoo or AltaVista, you needed to pay like $2,000 up front. Now you can start paying something like $5 and $10. You pay only for the clicks you get. So what you would call 'mom and pop' sites, people who start small businesses sitting at home, these people love Google."

Iddya himself has done well with Google's program. He lives in Bangalore, India, where a few years ago he got caught up in the tech boom. "I was a marketing executive at a dot-com that went bust," he says. "We burned all the V.C. money, just like any normal dot-com." After that, he started looking at Google's AdWords program and decided it was a good way to sell small products online -- which is what he did for a while, until "I realized that AdWords is different, and so I wrote a book about it." His book, which offers a step-by-step guide for creating effective ads, became a hit, and one day a reader asked Iddya if he would, for a fee, care to manage the reader's AdWords campaign. So that's what Iddya does now -- from India, he manages AdWords campaigns mostly for American firms. "It worked out," he says. "Now we have three employees and an office, and we are basically riding piggyback on Google."

Wade Winger`s Google Profits

Google Profits opens with an introduction to the basics on a particular brand of internet earning: harnessing the combined power of affiliate marketing and Google Ads.

The recommended affiliate system in the book is Clickbank, and you are given everything you need to know, including clear screen shots, on how to set up a ClickBank account and get choosing the eproducts that can earn a steady income in affiliate commissions.

The book is divided throughout into two sections: information and action - the information sections tell you everything you need to know, clearly and concisely and the action sections take you through how to do things. Again, with screen shots and very clear instructions.

This ebook would be worth it's cover price for the hand-holding in getting set up with ClickBank and google Ads alone - but it goes way further.

Wade Winger is an honest and easy to follow author, who reads as a supportive guide on the rocky road to internet riches. He gives good information, clearly knows what he's talking about from direct experience, and he readily shares the tips and tweaks that are the difference between making a profit and running up your Visa bill with google ad fees that don't make sales.

His safety formula for bidding on ads that will bring results is excellent.

Throughout Google Profits you feel like you're in good and experienced hands, there is never a sense of a half-baked product out to make a buck. Wade is giving you his own time tested recipe for success.

He even gives a detailed breakdown of his own test campaigns and shows you how to decide a potentially good earner from a product that won't earn you money, with just a few days and a few dollars investment.

Google Profits & Google Cash are some of the two most popular Adwords/Affiliate Marketing ebooks on the market so if you’re wondering (like I once did) which book to buy then I’d recommend Google Profits. My full review below will give you the details on why I prefer Google Profits to Google Cash.

I’ve recently purchased Wade Winger’s Google Profits and I must say that its one of the better Google Adwords ebooks around. I like especially since it focuses a lot on Google Adwords & Clickbank which is pretty much what I do right now.

Google Profits is a 69 page pdf ebook and one-page quick start guide. Wade starts off by explaining the basics such as what is an affiliate program, what is clickbank, what is adwords and why adwords and clickbank are such a powerful combination. Google Profits is a 5 step programme that teaches you how to start making money with adwords and clickbank. What I like about the book is how the process is broken down into 5 very easy to follow logical steps.

Wade also gives you very specific details on for example what you need to do to determine if you should continue with your campaign or test a new one, how to bring your campaign to the next level , which other search engines you should consider. Everything in a logical step by step fashion. A lot of times you’re told to test a campaign and if you don’t get any sales to delete it and try another one. How long should you test a campaign? How many clicks before you trash it? These questions are not answered in other books that I’ve read. Wade provides you with very specific figures such as wait till you receive x amount of clicks and trash the campaign if you haven’t made a sale. That sorta thing.

Even if you’re a newbie and never heard of Adwords or Clickbank before, Google Profits teaches you from how to sign up with Clickbank to how to start running your campaign on Adwords.

Google Profits vs Google Cash

Google Cash seems to have received a lot more publicity than Google Profits. Google Cash was one of the first adwords related ebooks I purchased and at the time I thought it was quite good. That was before I had even started experimenting with Adwords. Google Cash provides you with a good foundation on what adwords and affiliate marketing is all about. What I didn’t like about it was that Google Cash makes it sound so much easier that it really is. Google Profits provides a much more realistic view on how to make money with Adwords and affiliate marketing. Google Cash starts off with an overview of what Adwords and affiliate marketing is all about. It also walks you through starting a campaign and choosing affiliate products. There are also examples on some of the campaigns that the author has done really well with. These examples did give me new ideas but most of them were outdated and are not quite applicable due to new Google trademark rules.

In Google Profits, the best part of the book is where Wade shows you a real life test campaign, what he does each day from the birth of the campaign to the final 7th day where he is making good profits. Google Profits is NOT an ultra advanced Google Adwords course but more a overall step by step blueprint on how to make money with Adwords and Clickbank and it does a really good job of that.

I've tested his process myself, and am watching my profits and progress with interest. Once you've got the hang of the info from the book, all you really need to replicate the process and set up additional money earning ad campaigns is the handy cheat sheet included as a bonus. With Google Profits by your side, you could well be on your way to a tidy second income.

In conclusion: a well presented, informative and hype-free manual to earning money with google ads and affiliate products. Highly recommended.

Chris Carpenter`s Google Cash System

It is rare to find a brand new blueprint for making cash on the internet. The continuous churning of rehashed and ripped off regurgitated pablum has plagued the internet guru market for the last few years. But ever so often with some persistent digging you find a gem. Google Cash is that shining diamond on the coal-heap of get-rich-on-the-internet promotion.

With the pending IPO of Google and all the hype surrounding it, it's easy to overlook the hidden fundamentals that make Google such a marketing miracle. The Google Adwords program allows savvy marketers to reach highly desirable eyeballs at a predictable cost. Google Cash is a startlingly frank analysis of this fast-paced direct response medium.

Google Cash is a self help guide on how to make money by promoting other people's products and services, via search engines, such as Google, Yahoo! and MSN. Better known as affiliate marketing, this business model doesn't require a product or even a website. The Google Cash system teaches you Advertising through Google Adwords.

Chris starts Google Cash by explaining what Google Adwords is, and also what affiliate programs are. Chris makes a good monthly sum advertising affiliate programs on Google Adwords. In the first part of Google Cash, Chris shows you clear examples of 3 of his own campaigns and includes screenshots and detailed descriptions of how to research profitable topics. He then shows screenshots of his own results (click-throughs, cost, profits) after his Google Adwords campaigns have run for a while (details of setting up Google Adwords campaigns are left until later in the book). This initial section of the book is inspiring. It made me want to go out and research my own topics and then set up Google Adwords Campaigns. Chris' examples are in areas that I would have thought had huge competition, yet there he is making a lot of money in these areas.

You sell hand-made knitted scarves. You can place your ad directly in the path of people searching for one. With some elbow grease and a sharp pencil you can figure out to the penny what you can afford to pay for that ad. And you can target the world or Little Rock Arkansas with that ad thanks to the awesome interface and techno-wizardry of Google Adwords. What used to take 3 months in the "old days" of marketing back in the nineties takes 3 hours today!

Chris Carpenter lays out a step-by-step blueprint for generating extra income on the web using Google Adwords. He pulls back the curtain and reveals his own successful campaigns and even some of his stumbles in this marketing arena. He demystifies the mathematics and explains the entire process at a Grade 10 comprehension level.

The remainder of Google Cash is a "Making money with affiliate program by advertising on Google Adwords" tutorial.

This section of Google Cash includes:

  • Signing up for affilaite programs

  • Finding lucrative affiliate programs

  • Where to find ideas for your Google Adwords Campaigns

  • Researching which keywords will be most profitable (including a keyword research tool I had never heard of before)

  • How to write Google Adwords advertisements that get the click.

  • Setting up an account at Google for your Google Adwords campaigns

  • Choosing your target languages & countries

  • Creating Ad Groups

  • Setting your maximum daily budget (Chris recommends $5 / day maximum to begin with so you can test the water).

Can anything and everything be sold online through Google Adwords? Frankly, the astounding answer is yes! If a human wants it, you can put it in front of them. The Google Adwords interface is the single most powerful direct-response medium currently on the planet. With 300 million daily searches, with a little bit of imagination and creativity you can find a target niche for your product.

Think of Google Cash as a starting point rather than a be-all-end-all solution. For the price, it delivers great value. But you have to take action with this guide. Even though it lays out the step-by-step path to follow, you'll still have to invest the hours building your keyword campaigns and creating your Google projects. Even though there is real brain work involved, the potential rewards of developing your own online cash machine with Google outweighs the short term sweat equity. I think you'll enjoy Google Cash.

Towards the end of Google Cash, Chris gives you 20 tips for Maximizing your Google Adwords Campaigns. These tips will save you a lot of money on your campaigns and if you are new to Adwords, these tips are probably worth the price of the book itself. Use the tips as a check list of what to do and what not to do, and you cannot go far wrong.

Google Cash also has a detailed description of how you should track and monitor your campaigns (Chris provides his spreadsheet with the book so you can keep your own records of your Google Adwords Campaigns).

At the end of Google Cash, Chris tells you of a couple of other ways (besides Google Adwords campaigns) that you can use to make money with affiliate programs.

When you purchase Google Cash, you will also be given access to Chris' resource page. This page has links to some great resources ( mostly free) that he mentions in his book and uses himself during his own Google Adwords Campaigns.

Overall, this book has been singularly responsible for my own determination to introduce Google Adwords into my online marketing campaigns in the coming weeks.

I really believe that following the advice in this "Google Adwords tutorial", you will make money while at the same time avoiding some of the pitfalls that many Google Adwords novices make. I have always been put off using Adwords after hearing horror stories of how much money some people have lost with Adwords. However, now that I am armed with Google Cash, I am much more confident.

Google Cash is a must have resource for anyone serious about making money online.
